Alcoholic 03:39
Even if the glass is half-full or half not, I worry a lot About that face as red as a fire truck. I do, I really do. You might see me as melancholic, but I see you as an alcoholic Please take a step from the glass of wine, You should, you really should Time to put, put down the bottle Time to realize what you’re doing to yourself Time to put, put down the bottle Time to throw away the liquors on your shelf Cuz I, I don’t want to see you go down the drain Give me an honest reason why that beer is nothing that I should fear I really wanna know the truth. I do, I really do If I’m really just hyperbolic, then show me that you’re no alcoholic You ought to try and prove me wrong, you should, you really should

Librarian Looks Talk like a sweet young girl From the north side of town Dumb as a brick but Dressed to kill You turn my frown upside down And you could be my VP any day But the problem is, girl, you’re crazy, you’re crazy Messed up in that noggin up there When you’re with Senator John You look like his nurse Ready to give him his pills And when you step up to the mic You look so good But when you talk, you give me the chills And you can see Russia in your window every day But can’t you see that, girl, you’re crazy, you’re crazy Messed up in that noggin up there
3.
I’m in the daylight And you are in the night I always invite you over But you say that it is alright But it’s not alright for you to be this way I’ve been trying real hard to get you out of the gray Why be patient For the things that may never come Why be reckless When we see what you have become And you’ve become a guy that I don’t know Is my shining light dimming fast in your sorrow? Am I trying just way too hard? To fix what I can’t mend I’d hate to lose you, but I got to drop you I’m never ever talking to you again You’re stuck in a haze of smoke When you get out, I’ll see you then But until that point, I’ll drive my point I’m never ever talking to you again Can you face the music That life isn’t always great Sometimes you gotta eat the mud And learn to carry the weight And the weight is strong, but not enough to kill you But maybe the force will kick you out of the blues
4.
Your hair was brown, long and wavy But one day it turned to black, pompadour’d up and greasy Your job was good with substantial pay But you threw it all away, put down your tie for bedazzled pantsuits Elvis impersonator I’m talkin to you To stop eating those bacon peanut butter sandwiches And be more like you Do you want to end up like the king and die on the throne Do you want to end up like the king and die all alone
5.
Rusted Nail 03:04
Hollywood never told me that it would be this damn hard To give you up for good And Hollywood never warned me that there would be long long nights I would survive if I could You always told me there would always be someone better than you And I still haven’t found her But there you stand holding someone else’s hand and you laugh and smile Are things for you better? So here I stand like a rusted nail And I wonder how much more weight can I take? Before the wood will crack And the roof caves in It’s amazing the damage that comes from heartbreak

Dear Mr. Universe Now that you’ve seized the day Oh Mr. Universe The world is thinking that we’re okay Don’t let em down now Don’t let em down There are people that don’t believe your strength Prove to them that you’re the one Start early and blow their minds And show them that it’s just begun Don’t let em down now Don’t let em down Don’t you worry about me I’ll always be by your side Worry bout those that don’t believe Oh oh Win the hearts and the minds Of the people that object But don’t you worry about me So Mr. Universe Are you ready to face the facts Of the problems that plague the land Can you get the people to relax? Don’t let em down now Don’t let em down Don’t you worry about me I’ll always be by your side Worry bout those that don’t believe Oh oh Win the hearts and the minds Of the people that object But don’t you worry about me Mr. Universe The world is falling apart Can you bring it back in place? Balloons they’re standin blamelessly And I am standin aimlessly The punchbowl is my only friend While all my friends will dance The DJ plays all of the songs That make the kids feel they belong But I can’t dance to 50 Cent I’m standin in the dark Cuz I can not dance without you And I will not even try I would rather get shocked by an electric slide The lights go down the girls get down To all the beats and the big sound The guys will have their way with them While I just stand alone Cuz I can not dance without you And you do not even know I would rather get stomped by Cotton Eye Joe Cuz I can not dance without you And you know that I am right I’ve been saving my dancecard for you tonight

Ghost 03:05
Stop lights red lights are standing in my way On the highway my way baby I am racing, chasing a supersonic dream On a big screen, scheming to the extreme Get out of the way, I’m breaking all the rules I won’t listen to leaders cuz I think they are fools And I’m letting you go, the ghost in my heart You won’t haunt me no more I won’t let you haunt me Stop lights red lights are standing in my way On the highway my way baby Flying by, Purple sky it shimmers to my west On the quest, Gonna pass the fucking tests I was drinking some wine, and it turned to blood What's the use of religion if you're any good?
11.
You’re in danger You’re in danger You’re in danger being with me Can’t you see the ransom notes in my mail Can’t you see the ninja standin behind you I gotta save the nuns that are held hostage Can’t you see the shit that I go through? There’s a ticking bomb I gotta defuse There’s a burning building I gotta put out Don’t forget the missile that’s headed this way There’s a reason for you to sit this out

about

On June 1st, 2010, I released YEAR ONE, a compilation album that combines the "hits" of the first five releases (A Song A Day I, Danger - EP, Turn It On Again, Evolutia, Past and Present) into a single place.

The decision for this simple: while the albums pre-Say Hello to Strangers carry great importance to me, they all suffer from a case of "some songs are great, the rest are half-baked" syndrome. This package puts the spotlight on the tracks that shine a bit too bright on their respective albums.

Now, that's not to say that the original albums are gone for good. I'm sure they'll be reissued at some point in the near future. For now, let's celebrate the diamonds that came out of Penny Racer in its first year of existence.
